Here's some of the things we've done since our last post:
- we got to watch the OU basketball game (even though we lost to OSU, at least we got the game)
- Angela went to "work" for 2 days!
- laid out by the pool!!
- joined the OU alumni group in Orlando
- Went to Universal City walk for dinner and a movie and TCBY!!
- had dinner with Justine, Leah's sister that was in town visiting friends
- watched the shuttle lunch from our front porch
- Angela went to the Tampa Zoo
I know you are all shocked, Angela went to work, well here's the deal. This nanny agency called me and apparently thought I would make a great nanny. I'm pretty desperate so I figured I'd give it a try. I went in and interviewed and the next day I went back to turn in my fingerprints that I had done, and 20 minutes later the receptionist called me. She asked me if I would be interested in covering for her for a few days because she is getting married and going on her honeymoon, I said of course! She also told me that she graduated from Plano East in 2005 and her fiance graduated from OSU. Small world! So I went in on Thursday to train and I worked on Friday for her because she had to go out of town for the day. Then I go back tomorrow and work through next Friday! I am really excited about the opportunity and hoping something comes from it. It is in an office building downtown and there are many different offices on that floor that I'm the receptionist for. Everyone there is really nice and I am looking forward to going to work, even if it's just temporary!
We did our first "touristy" thing on Friday night and went to the Citywalk. It's not far from our house and we wanted to see a movie. It was fun to go and walk around and we can't wait to go back and go to Islands of Adventure!
Have any of you ever seen a shuttle launch in person? I must admit it was pretty cool. You could see the shuttle plain as day just going up into the sky. Then you could see the tanks fall off and continue to fall into the ocean. Then, apparently, when the shuttle reaches orbit it looks like it is coming back down, but it's not. And we were told that when it comes back, it breaks the sound barrier and you can hear it! But we'll see...and I'll let you know!
Lastly, yesterday I met Jennifer, Matt, Andrew, and Sarah French at the Tampa Zoo for a fun day! We spent most of the afternoon there and saw some pretty neat animals! I took a couple pictures of the animals we saw! Jennifer and Andrew fed Boris, the giraffe, some cookies and then we got to pet sting-rays! It was such a fun day and I really enjoyed it! The Tampa Zoo is voted the #1 Family Friendly Zoo! We saw chimps, orangoutangs, panthers, penguins, a wolf, skunks, monkeys, snakes, bears, manatees, white tigers, eagles, flamingos, otters, turtles, zebras, elephants, and of course a swamp full of gators (but those are everywhere here not just in the zoo ;-) and a BUNCH of animals I can't remember or have ever heard of! But it was so good to see them! Andrew and Sarah are growing up so fast and as soon I get the pictures from them that we took of us together, I'll post those too!
Hope everyone is having a fun and safe St. Patty's Day! We're about to head out and get some green beer!
Love,
Us
p.s. My friend Chris Wang and her friend PJ are coming in on Thursday from NYC and spending the weekend with us for her birthday! I can not wait to have our first house guests!!!

I took Carson to the Dallas Zoo...your zoo looks much cooler. Carson just kept saying "he's sleeping." It seemed like half the animals were either sleeping or no where in sight...maybe more than half the animals. It was still a fun day though! We rode the train all the way from Plano...way to long, but live and learn. He was a big fan. Thanks for inspiring me to go!
