We're finally doing it!

I posted a question, to which no one replied to...is anybody out there!?, awhile asking if anyone had gone to a Jimmy Buffett concert.  We ended up not going then, but are going tomorrow night!  Notice I didn't ask for anyone's advice this time.  Now I know it won't be the full on parrot-head experience since it is on a school night, but it's still Jimmy, pina colada's, and cheeseburgers in paradise!  (lame I know, I had to) Kyle has been wanting to see good ole Jim for for awhile and we all know...what Kyle wants Kyle gets so he is particularly more excited than I am.  He listens to Margaritaville on Sirius everyday, and swears he is going to hang out at Margaritaville at Universal Studios one day to meet JD the DJ.  We have yet to do that, but I don't doubt he crosses it off his things to do while living in Orlando list.  There is still plenty of time.  The good thing is is that the concert is indoors and not outdoors as his concerts typically are (and I am sure much more enjoyable that way) because we got a cold front today.  It rained ALL day and it's getting down into the 40's tonight with the high in the 50's tomorrow.  Which poses a real dilemma for the "what do you wear to a Jimmy Buffett concert" question.  Obviously its all about being tropical and beachy, but that's really hard in 50 degree weather.  I did go buy some leis for us and our friends that are going so hopefully that will "beachify" our sweaters and jeans?!

I am just hoping when we get there that I end up knowing more songs than I think I will.  I mean I am forced to listen to Margaritaville in the car so I'm bound to know at least half.  Don't worry I'll fill you in sometimes this weekend.  I have a feeling Friday at work is going to be tough.

What I am reminded of today.

One year ago today ( I promise I won't keep doing these, I just can not believe how fast this year has flown) was our going away party in Tulsa.  Our wonderful friends Jeff and Leah planned an amazing evening with all of our friends and family.  We are so blessed.  I love looking at these pictures because there aren't too many opportunities in life to have everyone you love in one room.  We were overwhelmed at how many people came out to bid us adieu but it was a great way to say goodbye to Tulsa.  Thank you to everyone who shared that day with us.

Having said that, we have now lived here a year now so if you haven't come to see us yet, you better get on it!

Hope you all had a relaxing weekend!  We sure did and that is so nice for a change.  We actually did a "double feature" you know two for the price of one movie.  Don't judge, at $10.00 a ticket, the least they can do is let us go see two of them.  We saw Shutter Island which I have to admit was pretty entertaining.  Then we went into Valentine's Day and let's just say...at least we got our money worth.  It was cute and we laughed at parts, but could certainly be a rental.

I'll leave you with some pictures of our going away party.  We still miss and love all of you so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISNEY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my very best friend, Lisney!!  Lisney and I have been friends for 24 years!  We both went to St. Marks for pre-school and she has been my friend as long as I can remember having friends.  I can remember her birthday party (must have been 1st or 2nd grade) where we took a limo to a beauty school and all had makeovers,  and another one in middle school at her parents house, which was a Lion King theme and it was with boys!  We slow danced, jumped on her trampoline, and rocked out to the new Brandi CD that the Konke twins gave her.  We thought we were so cool.  I really wish I could scan some of the pictures I have from when we were younger, but I could only find ones that we already on our computer from the last 5 or 6 years.

Lisney is the kind of friend that is ALWAYS there for you.  We have been through so much together and I can't think of a time that she wasn't right by my side.  Through our St. Mark's days we played every sport imaginable together and she even starred in a couple of our plays and I was also so jealous.  She was always the lead and I would get the smallest role possible.  She was also the bomb.com at Speech Tournaments!  I will never forgot how much she helped me make it through my 9th grade year at new school.  She would still write me notes in class and give them to me whenever we saw eachother, she invited me to everything her and her new friends were doing (basketball games, dinners, new  years eve parties, football games, movies, parties) because she knew I wasn't making new friends too easily.  I had my very first ever date drop me off back at her house so I could run inside and tell her all about it.  We drove to eachothers houses on our 16th birthday just to go drive around on our own.  We were there for eachothers dances, proms, high school sports, birthdays, graduations, and everything else in between.

Then of course through the college years, her at Tarelton State and me at Oklahoma.  Summers and breaks at home meant spending as much time together as possible and the beginning of our "cigs and slurpees" nights. We were there for each other's graduations, and 1st jobs as big girls.  She is truly my very best friend and I was so honored to have her stand beside me at my wedding.  Even though she thought the bridesmaids dresses looked like red ornaments and would try on the dress while signing Christmas carols...

Lis- I hope you have the best birthday!  I wish I could be there to celebrate with you!

We love you,

Angela and Kyle

A Wicked Valentine's Day!

We are going to see Wicked in Tampa on Saturday and am so excited to finally go see it!  We were going to see it in Tulsa, then we moved to Orlando.  And we tried to go see it in NYC but tickets were a bit expensive so we went and saw Hair instead.  We bought the tickets back in October so we have been looking forward to it for a while and it just worked out that it happened to be on Valentine's Day weekend.  That made gift giving for both of us really easy!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day!  We LOVE you all so much!

Our new favorite treat!

There is a little place called Jeremiah's down the street from our house that is the best dessert you have ever had.  It is called Gelati.  We had heard about it ever since we moved and finally decided to try it over the weekend.  AMAZING.  They mix gelato and frozen yogurt.  Genius.  On Friday I got the snoop froggy frog (their signature flavor) which is mint chocolate chip and chocolate frozen yogurt.  Don't judge I was craving chocolate.  And it was seriously amazing.  Kyle got cotton candy gelato with vanilla frozen yogurt.  And their yogurt is even better than any other yogurt, TCBY, Braums, Columbo, Menchies... you name it...this yogurt kicks it's butt!  Kyle's tasted just like a cotton candy dreamcicle.  We enjoyed it so much we went back last night for another taste.  I got what Kyle got the first time and this time he tried the strawberry mango with vanilla frozen yogurt.  We are so excited to take all of you here you have no idea.
