1 year ago today...

We found out we were moving to Orlando!  It was right in the middle of a snowy, wintery blizzard in Tulsa and Kyle was taking me to work and picking me up for lunch because I didn't want to drive in the weather.  He had picked me up at my office and we were driving to El Tequila, of course, when his phone rang.  We were turning onto 61st from Yale and he answered it.  Now he had flown out to Tampa the week before to interview and we had discussed our plan of action should they call and offer him the job.  The plan was, if (not that I doubted he wouldn't get the job) they called and said, "Kyle you've got the job" he would simply tell them that he needed to discuss it with him family and get back to him shortly.  Even though there wasn't a doubt in our minds that we would take it in a heartbeat.  Seemed like a pretty good plan.  Well when they actually called and told him they wanted him to move to Orlando to become an Area Manager, our plan went right out he window.  All of a sudden I hear him say, "Yes.  Of course I would love to."  Immediatly I knew what had just happened and looking out the window at the messy snow covering everything I could not have been more happy with his impromptu decision.  That was it...we were moving to sunny Florida!

When we finally got to El Tequila, they were closed because of the weather so we ended up at Which Which and our lives were forever changed.  And in 3 1/2 weeks from that day we were living in Orlando. I can't believe it has been a year since we moved.  Time really does fly!

Have a good night!  Two more days until Friday!!

Zumba experience

Well I did it.  I attempted my first Zumba class tonight.  They offer it at our gym and I thought it would be fun to spice things up a bit.  It was a great work out don't get me wrong but it certainly taught me some things about my self.

First, I am no longer considered an athlete.  Although once a serious athlete, those days are long gone.  I mean think about it, the last time I actually played a sport and was in a work out routine was in high school.  And as much as it pains me to say, that was 9...NINE...years ago people.  Second, I realized my knees just can't take what they use to.  There is some serious pain in my knees and balls of my feet.  I've never been one to have knee problems but there was a lot of jumping, skipping, bouncing, gyrating, shaking, bumping, grinding, hopping, and crunching.  I mean these people can move.  Third, I can not move my chest or hips very gracefully and certainly do not look even remotely coordinated doing it.   Zumba is a latin dance all about moving the hips and shaking it.  I have never been a good dancer, but I'm hoping maybe this can teach me some rhythm.  It certainly does not help that there are mirrors all over the room just to remind me how un-sexy my dance moves are.  Now, I am not the worst person in the class but there was a gay guy in there that could really move it.  Oh to have his flexible hips and work it girl face!

This was certainly out of character for me to jump in and try something new like this, so even though I didn't tap some super natural dancing talent in me, it was fun and I had a great time doing it.  And hopefully I'll be able to walk tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Love Angela,
(wouldn't you be so surprised if kyle wrote this one ;-)

Happy Birthday Megan, Morgan, and Courtney!

Well, apparently I am not very good at being on time for birthday blogging and for that I apologize!  But my very good friends Megan,  Morgan, and Courtney all celebrate a birthday in January and I just wanted to wish all of them a very happy birthday!  Megan and Morgan's are the 7th and Courtney's is the 20th.

Megan was my roommate my very first year at the Chi O house and I think we both wanted to quit and move out the second I walked in and realized 3 of us had to live in the smallest room in the house.  But what at first seemed like a very traumatic experience to 19 year old sorority girls ended up giving us a friendship we will cherish forever.  We have since been roommates for a total of almost 3 years and and friends for over 7!  She was a bridesmaid in my wedding a the true example of a best friend.  Miss you and love you forever roomie!

I met Morgan the very same night I met Kyle, 6 years ago.  Nate, Morgan's then boyfriend, was a house boy at the Chi O house and we wanted to meet his girlfriend we had heard so much about.  Needless to say we have all been friends since that night and she is one of the funniest girls you will meet.  I can remember where I was when Kyle told me Nate was driving up to Norman to surprise Morgan and purpose to her!  I was so excited it was so hard for that hour to not call and tell everyone.  They moved to Tennessee in May and we miss them dearly.  Luckily our husbands have CODMF2 and we have Skype!

Courtney and I also met through our husbands who are also brothers for life.  Matt and Kyle have been friends since early in college and Courtney and I met at a party shortly after her and Matt started dating.  We have always had so much in common and have so much fun together.  We recently met them down in Miami for the OU/ Miami game and they let us stay with them when we were in Tulsa for Thanksgiving.   We miss our friday night date nights with the Huston's!!

Happy birthday to 3 of the most wonderful friends!! I hope you all had great birthdays surrounded by friends and loved ones!  And know that we miss and love all of you and hopefully we'll be able to celebrate your birthdays with you in person soon!

Lazy Sunday!

We have been completely and totally worthless today.  We both woke up not feeling so great - him with a stomach bug and I with a sore throat and a really sore tailbone?!  Very random I know, but it really hurts.  Luckily we didn't have a thing to do today so we just caught up on some (okay 5) shows and watched that terrible no-good-very-bad Cowboys game.  Then I figured that it's about time to put up pictures of the house whether we are ready or not.  We've been here about 6 weeks now and it's as good as it's going to get for a while.

Without further adieu, The Payne Casa in Winter Park...

Never thought I would have palm trees in my front yard!

Entry way (remember from the painting post)

Want some baskets to put down there, for some reason it didn't come with any.

and yes we are taking down those hideous window treatments...eventually.

Our bedroom

Our bath, just a shower, sink, and toilet.

Office, still needs some work.

Kitchen

Not sure what we're doing with this room yet.

It's a nice room and pretty big, we just don't think we want to purchase a big dining room table set yet.  We might just get a bar thing to put in there and some chairs and make it a sitting area.  But for now it has our china cabinet and random things.

Another view of living room/kitchen table

Patio...huge selling point for us.  And we need some patio furniture I know.  We're working on it!

Our orange tree.  Which we had one with breakfast and they are really good!  They are actually red oranges, so juicy and tasty!  At least we'll never have to buy oranges at the store again.

And grapefruit tree.  Had one of those too!

Rest of AW's backyard.  He's so spoiled.

That's it.  There's the big tour.  Now we can't wait to have our first visitors come and see it in person!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

My office vs Kyle's office

Just a little bit jealous where I get to spend my Friday working ...

and where Kyle does....

Don't get me wrong, our office is beautiful, but it would be so nice to get to "work" outside on a beautiful day like today!  Hope it is starting to warm up where you live too!

Hotel Payne is also currently taking reservations for spring / summer Disneyworld trips.  Packages included, email for more information ;-)

Have a great Friday!

Angela

Happy 30th Birthday Kris!

One of the reasons we went to Dallas last weekend was to celebrate Kyle's brother's birthday. Kris turned the big 3-0 on Saturday and it was really special to get to spend his birthday with him.  We hope he he had a wonderful birthday!!!

On Friday night we went to dinner with Kris and his gf Melinda at Del Frisco's in Addison. It certainly rivaled my birthday meal at Roy's last year in Orlando. The service was wonderful, the food was some of the best filet's we'd ever had, and it was half price bottle of wine night and you can't beat that!  Then we met up with Lisney and headed to Barcadia, which is a bar + arcade = barcadia!

On Saturday we went to lunch to visit with my mom and step dad and a whole lotta family!  It was wonderful!  And Justin and Laura joined us for lunch too.  Saturday night was Kris's actual birthday and celebration dinner and we went to Maggiano's with Melinda's family, Duffy, Jim, and Stuart.  I am ashamed to admit that that was my very first time eating there, but it was just as good as everyone said it was.  (even though a couple hoaglands / payne's, not including me, ended up getting a little sick later).  We also saw someone get engaged there, which is always fun to see!  Not only was the food wonderful but the company was as well.  It was nice to meet her family and have the families meet.  Such a big step for a couple...hint hint wink wink.

Then we headed to Champs to finish watching the Cowboys game.  GO COWBOYS!!  It is really exciting for those of us who remember the glory years.  And for all you St. Markers out there, when we got to wear cowboy gear to school instead of our uniforms.   Afterwards we went to the Londoner and got to see so many wonderful friends who came out to see us!

Me and my beautiful sisters!

Laney loves watching uncle kyle play CODMW2

But she was not happy with her uncle kyle here

Really Dallas.

This is the weather forcast for Dallas, of course the weekend we decide to come home.  I don't even know what those blue arrows on Thursday mean.  And I am not liking those cold temperatures for a high.  At least there isn't much chance for rain or anything that would delay us getting there and coming back!  I hope you guys are ready to bundle up and hang out!!!  I am excited to get to use my winter clothes.  Although it is pretty chilly in Orlando too.  It is 44 right now and even gets down into the 30's at night. Good thing we have a fire place...however, I haven't quite figured out how to start the fire yet.

Happy Wednesday!  We'll be in dallas tomorrow!!!

Love,
us

Happy Birthday Amy!

My middle sister turns 29 today! Just want to wish her a very happy birthday via blog post along with a text, call, email, facebook post, myspace message, and smoke signal, she'll get today from me! Even though people use to think we were twins because we were forced to dress a like and despised every second of it, we've grown up to be really good friends and I love her so much. We are about as complete opposite as complete opposite gets but we finally appreciate the importance of having a sister who is your constant, guaranteed best friend for life. And no matter what they are there for you. I LOVE YOU SISTER! Can't wait to see you in 5 days. And we can finally start planning a 30th birthday soirée for you!

HAPPY Twenty Ten!

2010. Boy does that make me feel old. I can remember NYE Y2K like it was yesterday and it was 10 years ago! One of my new years resolutions is to blog more and blog more interesting things. We'll see how that goes. Today has been such a nice relaxing day with nothing to do and it's only Friday! Still 2 more days left of the weekend. Kyle actually went to the Capital One Bowl today and if you watched it on TV it was rainy and cold and the field was a mess. But he had fun! and LSU lost so he was happy.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's eve and I'm looking forward to what 2010 brings! And a congratulations to Kyle's cousin Wendy who got engaged recently and to my cousin Theresa who got engaged at midnight last night! We are so happy for you guys and look forward to the weddings!

And if you're in the Dallas area next weekend the Payne's will be making a visit from the 7th - 11th. Would love to see as many people as possible.

I'll leave you with some pics of what we've been doing in December.

Love you guys!
