Zumba experience

Well I did it.  I attempted my first Zumba class tonight.  They offer it at our gym and I thought it would be fun to spice things up a bit.  It was a great work out don't get me wrong but it certainly taught me some things about my self.

First, I am no longer considered an athlete.  Although once a serious athlete, those days are long gone.  I mean think about it, the last time I actually played a sport and was in a work out routine was in high school.  And as much as it pains me to say, that was 9...NINE...years ago people.  Second, I realized my knees just can't take what they use to.  There is some serious pain in my knees and balls of my feet.  I've never been one to have knee problems but there was a lot of jumping, skipping, bouncing, gyrating, shaking, bumping, grinding, hopping, and crunching.  I mean these people can move.  Third, I can not move my chest or hips very gracefully and certainly do not look even remotely coordinated doing it.   Zumba is a latin dance all about moving the hips and shaking it.  I have never been a good dancer, but I'm hoping maybe this can teach me some rhythm.  It certainly does not help that there are mirrors all over the room just to remind me how un-sexy my dance moves are.  Now, I am not the worst person in the class but there was a gay guy in there that could really move it.  Oh to have his flexible hips and work it girl face!

This was certainly out of character for me to jump in and try something new like this, so even though I didn't tap some super natural dancing talent in me, it was fun and I had a great time doing it.  And hopefully I'll be able to walk tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Love Angela,
(wouldn't you be so surprised if kyle wrote this one ;-)
